High Strung Violins & Guitars
Rental Program
Bowed Contract
High Strung Rental Contract TERMS

You, the renter, are responsible for taking good care of the instrument. If you damage or lose your instrument, or it is stolen, you must pay for the repair or replacement of the instrument.

Optional Insurance is available and covers broken bridges, broken bows, reasonable damage (but not malicious or intentional damage, damage from neglect, [1] or heat damage), and theft (but not THEFT FROM CAR.) A police report is required for any theft claim. LOSS of instrument is NOT COVERED.

We want you to pay your rent on time. You can use on-time rent to pay for up to half of any new, single, regularly priced instrument in the same family (fretted family = guitars, mandolins, banjos; or bowed family = violins, violas, cellos.) One instrument purchase per erntal contract, not transferable.

You cannot use late-paid rent to buy an instrument.

You cannot buy your rental instrument.

You cannot use any rental payments to pay for damaged, lost, or stolen instruments.

You have 60 days after you return your instrument to buy a new instrument with on-time rent.

On the 2nd of the month, we charge a $5 administrative fee every time a rent is late to cover the cost of the extra work needed to track down unpaid rents.

You are responsible for the rent on your instrument until you return it to us at 1116 Broad Street, Durham N.C. If your instrument is not in our possession on the last day of a month, you are responsible for paying that next month’s entire rent.

There are NO REFUNDS for early return of the instrument. When you pay your rent, you are contracting to rent the instrument for a specific amount of time.

A refundable security deposit is required on all High Strung Rentals, unless you rent six months paid-in-advance for cellos, or 9 months paid-in-advance for any other instrument.

We reserve the right to subtract unpaid rent, unpaid late fees, repair expenses and collection costs from the security deposit.

Premium Rentals require a bank-issued Visa, Mastercard or Discover credit card number (not a debit card) on file. The credit card must be issued in the name of the person renting the instrument. The same credit card must be used to pay recurring rent. No security deposit is required.

If you are having difficulty meeting your contractual obligations, PLEASE CALL or E-MAIL BEFORE RENT IS DUE. No excuses on or after the first of the month.
